The way I see it, there are 2 basic types of websites out there in cyberspace
for those who are interested in travel and exploration.
We're all familiar with the sites in our local area: our local TV, radio
stations and newspapers have them. Nowadays, even in small towns there
are local folks who post information on their websites to help you to
know what is going on this month in "your neck of the woods",
as Al Roker likes to say. There are also literally thousands of sites
out there to keep people who are planning a trip or vacation and looking
for ways to fill up their free time.
We've never been able to find a website, however, that offers a combination
of these two. YourFriendInTravel.com is a unique website. It allows you
to explore places you may or may not have been before from a different
perspective (ours, and our quirky friends) from the common to the exotic.
You may even discover that the common is the exotic.
We aim to be the "Motley Fool" of travel sites. We'll be providing
you with articles about our own experiences on trips we've taken (no.....not
the psychedelic version) with a sense of humor and whimsy. We'll also
talk about places we've explored while living in various regions of the
U.S. and abroad.
For those of you who've never had the time or opportunity to leave home
often, it will give you the chance for a variety of vicarious excursions.
And, if you're lucky enough to travel frequently, we just may offer some
ideas for something new and interesting that your "travel agent won't
tell you."
Regardless, we're gonna have a good time. So join us - and you'll have
